Looking For A Lyme Doctor – This May Help

April 26, 2016 by Tricia Leave a Comment

Finding a good physician who understands the complexities of Lyme disease is quite challenging.

Most people who know they have chronic tick-borne infections first visited their primary doctor and then possibly to a list of specialists who did not consider Lyme or the many co-infections as a possibility for their symptoms. Instead, most were first misdiagnosed with one or more other illnesses or diseases.

While a Lyme literate or integrative physician may cost more initially, in the long run, it could save you hundreds of thousands of dollars and a lifetime of chronic pain.

So, how do you go about finding a doctor who will give you the best care and is knowledgeable about tick-borne infections?

Find a Lyme Literate Doctor

Most of my favorite doctors were found through word of mouth, but depending on where you live, finding someone who can effectively treat Lyme disease and co-infections could be more difficult. I believe it’s important to find someone who can treat holistically, who truly listens and cares; and who addresses your immune system as well as the infections.

These resources will get you started in your search for a doctor.
