The Shark Sonic Duo

Years ago when I became ill with chronic Lyme Disease, we had to make choices that would help us run our home with as much ease as we could.

I was not physically capable of doing simple things like mopping the floor or scrubbing the bathroom tub.

In the beginning of my illness my husband hired a wonderful friend to come in once or twice a month to help with the deep cleaning but that only lasted a short time.

I finally realized how important it was for me to buy products that would make it easier for my family to do the every day jobs that needed to be done.

Many times this has meant spending more money than I normally would.  This hasn’t always been easy for me because I’ve always been a penny pinching kind of woman.

I’m really quite excited about two purchases that I’ve made over the past year and wanted to tell you about them.

Initially, I threw out my old standard mop and purchased a Shark Steam Mop which I really did love. I was always amazed at how much dirt it picked up.  It was easier to push around than the old mop and kept me from having to scrub the floor but it was still a little bulky and difficult to maneuver with the intense shoulder pain I had with Lyme.

About a year ago, I purchased the Shark Sonic Duo Carpet and Floor Cleaner.  I originally purchased this because of the way it scrubs and almost moves itself across the floor or carpet.  No pushing and pulling for me and definitely no scrubbing.  After all, it’s dual scrubbing action scrubs 1,000 scrubs per minute, that’s a lot more than I can do and when my Lyme symptoms are flaring it does all the work for me.

The Sonic Duo is not a deep carpet cleaner but works very well to clean carpets, Oriental and throw rugs and when you have an 8 year old boy running through the house with his friends, it’s an easy way to clean up the dirt and spills they make.

An added benefit is that I can switch out the refillable bottle of cleaner and the pads to clean my old kitchen floor.

It works very well, even in tight spaces like the bathroom.  It comes with scrubbing pads and refillable bottles for the hard floor and carpet cleaner solutions.  Everything is color coded which is great for me when I’m having a little brain fog.  My older girls even prefer to use this over the steam mop.

I’m not saying you should run right out and buy this because it is quite expensive, but, if you were already thinking about it or like me have been looking for something that can help you out then it’s definitely worth looking into.

Check out more about this helpful machine.

Next time, I’ll share with you my favorite Lyme Friendly Cooking Helper.

I bought the Sonic duo and love it. My carpets were cleaned by professionals and always looked just as dirty a few days later. Sonic duo got spots out that I didn’t expect to get up. My den carpet looks clean after a month. I highly recommend it. I just wish I had taken pictures before and after. I even had several red spots from fruit drinks and they have not reappeared. My appliance repairman recommended this to me. He couldn’t fix my old machine that just did hard surface floors.
