My Review of Once Again Nut Butter

March 4, 2017 by Tricia 2 Comments

*Disclaimer: I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com), May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my honest opinion on my blog. The opinions posted are my own.

I’m relatively new to reviewing products for my blog and so when I opened my front door and found a large box sitting on my porch I was a bit surprised. Who wouldn’t be excited to find a large box, that they didn’t order, with their name on it? It wasn’t even my birthday yet!

When I opened it, look what I found! It’s a beautifully packaged box full of Once Again Nut Butters. I agreed to review these nut butters because my daughter and I are pretty serious about our health.

Actually, my 16-year-old daughter is way more serious about her health than I am about mine. She has to be because she knows that if she doesn’t eat a very strict, sugar-free and gluten-free diet her anxiety and OCD symptoms will come back.

I’ve always tried to purchase organic, healthy groceries for my family but sometimes teaching our children to adopt our healthy habits is a little difficult. My daughter impresses me with her diligence and she likes to make lists of healthy snack foods for me to pick up from the store.

Once I brought myself to open that beautiful box, I placed the jars on my counter and clearly explained to my family that I needed to taste them and try out a few recipes so that I could write this review and I asked them to not touch them.

Once Again Organic Nut Butter

A few days later, I opened the peanut butter jar only to find that it was almost completely eaten. She found it irresistible and within a few days had eaten the whole jar. These nut butters have a small amount of sugar in them but it didn’t seem to bother her.

The texture and tastes of each of these butters were delicious. The peanut butter and almond butter both had rich roasted nut flavors. The Almond butter wasn’t as creamy as the others so if you’re senstive to texture that may be a concern. My daughter wasn’t as crazy over the Sunflower and Cashew nut butters but I really liked them.

Here are a few ways my daughter and I used them.

My daughter made green smoothies and added either the Once Again Peanut Butter or Almond Butter to them. We both made protein nut bowls by combining 1/4 Cup of raw oats, 1 Tbsp of Once Again Peanut Butter, a drizzle of raw honey and 1 Tbsp Cacao Nibs.

Surprisingly, I discovered that my favorite nut butter for the Protein Nut Bowls was Cashew Butter. It wasn’t as heavy and rich as the Peanut Butter or Almond Butter so it was the perfect evening snack. I loved the taste on Ezekial bread with a little drizzle of honey.

I made Sunflower Butter Cookies which didn’t last long on the plate. I also added Sunflower Butter to a pancake recipe that came with the product.

I really liked the diversity of the different nut butters and each one had a unique taste. Honestly, this is the first time I had ever tried Sunflower or Cashew nut butter.

Here’s what I read about Once Again Nut Butters which caught my attention and made me want to try these products.

Once Again Nut Butter/Dawes Hill is an employee-owned company located in a small rural community in Upstate Western New York.

Economic and Social Stewardship: Once Again develops and supports
        Domestic and international fair trade
        Small organic farms and cooperatives
Educational, medical, and employment programs in Nicaragua
Their annual donations provide assistance to impoverished Americans, disaster victims, and community-support efforts.

Safety & Customer Satisfaction: They’re committed to product safety and customer satisfaction and has a Quality Assurance Department providing product safety and customer satisfaction.

Gluten Free Products: All of their products are certified gluten-free by Celiac Sprue.

Environmentally Conscious: Their products are packaged in glass and more than 50% of each container they use is from glass that has been recycled.

With company standards like this and a great tasting product, I’m sure you’ll be seeing this in my grocery cart. So far I’ve only seen their Tahini available in my local supermarket but I have a feeling I’ll see the other products very soon.

That’s great! I was really surprised, I like the sunflower butter. Have you tried any of the recipes on their website?
